Hundreds of Delta State youths gathered in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, on Thursday to honour the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, calling on relevant authorities, particularly the police, to conduct a thorough investigation and prosecution of his killers.
The rally began at the Awenayeri fueling station near the Bendel Estate junction on Airport Road in Effurun.
They played songs of the deceased as they bore placards with inscriptions such as “#JusticeMohbad. Say No to Marlians”, “#You don’t have to kill somebody before you sing #Justice4Mohbad Imole. Who off the light”, “If to say Na Jazz, E for don cast. If to say Na soap, we 4 Don baff am finish.#Justice4Mohbad a.k.a, Imole#” and “Justice for Mohbad. Justice for Imole #WarriJusticeforMohbad#”

The youngsters also asked that Mohbad’s wife be summoned and interrogated, as well as a DNA test on her son to determine his genuine paternity.
They also demanded that the police arrest his father and question him about his motivations for hastening his son’s funeral, as well as Naira Marley, his former label boss, and the youths accused of injecting the deceased.
Odivri Elo Sandra, one of the demonstrators, sobbed loudly and compared Mohbad’s murder to her own, stating she had no relatives. She went on to say that if she died, her ashes should be interred at the cemetery, emphasising that those close to her do not love her.
