Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that the late singer, Mohbad, died due to injuries sustained during a fight with his childhood friend, PrimeBoy, in Ikorodu.
KanyiDaily recalls that Primeboy, Naira Marley, and Sam Larry are currently in police detention over the death of Mohbad who died under controversial circumstances on September 12.
During a press conference Friday, Lagos Police Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa announced the names of those arrested in connection with the singer’s untimely demise.
According to him, PrimeBoy attended Mohbad’s show in Ikorodu on September 10, and a violent fight broke out between them afterward, resulting in the singer’s injury and subsequent death.
“At the end of the show, Mohbad and Ibrahim (Primeboy) were engaged in a violent fight during which Mohbad was injured. The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death, he is being treated as a suspect,” he said
Owohunwa also revealed that Naira Marley and Sam Larry are implicated in cyberbullying, physical abuse, threats to life, and assault against the late singer, based on electronic and credible witness evidence.
He said, “While Abdulazeez Fashola (Naira Marley) and Samson Balogun (Sam Larry) denied allegations of criminal liability in the death of Mohbad and pleaded an alibi to justify their non-being complicit in the incident that occurred between 10-12 September 2023, there are ample electronic and credible witness pieces of evidence linking them to cyberbullying, a threat to life, assault occasioning harm, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace against the deceased in his lifetime”
The commissioner revealed an auxiliary nurse, Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as the prime suspect.
He disclosed that Ogedengbe who was invited by Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sodiq aka Spending, administered three “highly potent” injections at the singer’s residence, leading to severe reactions, including vomiting and goosebumps, ultimately causing his death.
The Commissioner said Feyisayo Ogedengbe was unqualified to perform the role of a home nurse and did so in a non-clinical environment way.
KanyiDaily recalls that the police also stated that there is evidence suggesting Naira Marley and Sam Larry were not involved in Mohbad’s death.
