“AGN Didn’t Abandon Him” – Kate Henshaw Breaks Silence On Mr Ibu’s Health Issues

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has refuted claims that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) neglected their ailing member, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.

KanyiDaily recalls that Mr Ibu was recently seen on the hospital bed, appealing to the public for financial support and prayers while expressing concern that his legs might be amputated.

Reacting to the claims that the ailing actor was abandoned, AGN’s Director of Communications, Kate Henshaw addressed concerns and clarified their approach to health support for Mr Ibu.

The actress, in an official statement released on Friday, said the guild “has been supporting the ace actor financially” before his health issue was made public.

She also assured the public and their members that the guild has always been steadfast in its commitment to supporting those in need, particularly when it comes to health issues.

Kate Henshaw said, “We want to set the record straight over the public outcry that the guild and his colleagues have abandoned him at his point of need.

“The guild has never abandoned any of its members in need, especially with health intervention, we have been at the forefront of providing necessary support even before his health condition was made public and this has been done with the full knowledge of his immediate family members.

“We have had to task members privately to help in providing assistance towards the intervention and we do not make public any form of assistance it is not our modus operandi.

“Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have blinked an eye over this Mr Ibu issue but it has become imperative to make some clarifications as the integrity and welfare package is at stake,” she stated.

KanyiDaily recalls that veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo had also urged people to refrain from seeking attention with Mr. Ibu’s health condition.
