Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has reacted to the tragic death of Justina Nkang, a student of the University of Port Harcourt, who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Damian Okoligwe.

KanyiDaily had reported how Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student of Uniport, was caught trying to dispose the dismemberment of his 300-level girlfriend, Justina Otuene Nkang.

The young man was apprehended and handed over to security officials amid speculations that he allegedly intended to use his girlfriend’s body parts for money ritual purposes.

Reacting in a video shared on Instagram, Yul Edochie called on Nigerian youth to reconsider their pursuit of wealth and material possessions, stressing that those exhibiting opulent lifestyles on social media might contribute to such incidents.

The actor emphasized that flashy lifestyle showcased on social platforms often differs from reality and urged youngsters to prioritize their academic pursuits over the pursuit of material wealth.

As an alumnus of the institution, Yul stressed the importance of focusing on academic excellence rather than chasing flashy lives and materialistic desires.

“I saw a story about a young guy who killed his girlfriend and it really broke my heart. At that age, what you should be focused on is your grades and not this whole love for material things.

“Young people these days, slow down; all these material things don’t matter. Any car you see today driving you nuts, give it a few years, you won’t be able to look at it,” he said in part.
