Nigerian singer, Mayorkun has urged the National Assembly to prioritize the repair and improvement of the roads rather than purchasing new vehicles for themselves.
Mayorkun’s appeal comes in the wake of public scrutiny over the acquisition of 2023 model Toyota Prado vehicles for 469 federal lawmakers, a move that has drawn criticism from various segments of the Nigerian population.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Services, Sunday Karimi, defended the vehicle procurement, citing the poor condition of Nigerian roads as a reason for the purchase.
Reacting via his Snapchat, Mayorkun urged the lawmakers to direct their attention to fixing the nation’s roads instead of indulging in acquiring new vehicles for themselves.
He wrote, “Road no good, una dey buy new SUV. Fix the f**king rooooadddddd!!!! Lekki Epe Express is Terrible!. Appalling sh*t! Nothing like I can drive’ in this country o, I sabi road’ is a better compliment.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Mayorkun recently revealed why his relationship with his British girlfriend, Cocainna, fell apart.
