Anambra State’s ‘One Youth, Two Skills’ program, led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has provided more than 5,000 young people in the state’s 21 local government areas with a significant N2 billion start-up capital.
This is the first group of beneficiaries from the program, and they’ve received their checks in Awka after completing their training.
Hon. Chuks Azotani, the representative for Dunukofia Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly and chairman of the Information Technology and Creative Economy committee, advised the beneficiaries to effectively invest the start-up capital in their trained skills and businesses to achieve the program’s objectives.
The lawmaker commended Governor Soludo for initiating this program, recognizing its potential to significantly reduce youth unemployment and unrest. He also noted that it would be instrumental in nurturing young entrepreneurs who, in turn, would become self-reliant and create job opportunities.
The ‘one youth, two skills’ program initiated by Governor Soludo and facilitated by the State Ministry of Youth Development in Anambra State is expected to have a positive impact on the economy, particularly in the Information, Communication, and Technology sectors.
Azotani said: “The positive effects of this program of 1 youth, 2 skills initiated by the Soludo administration being facilitated by the State Ministry of Youth Development, will foster robust economic impacts in the areas of Information, Communication, and Technology.
“I urge the trained beneficiaries of this landmark program to effectively apply the skills and knowledge they received. I also implore the beneficiaries to judiciously invest their seed capital efficiently to become successful business owners and employers of labor in the state.”
The legislator expressed his happiness that 100 beneficiaries from the first program batch were from the Dunukofia local government area. He reassured the local youth that more favorable opportunities lay ahead for them.
Azotani advised Nigerian youth to focus on meaningful activities, especially in ICT and noted that the Soludo administration has more plans to boost socio-economic development in Anambra State.
He urged the people of Anambra to unite and support the state government’s initiatives in making the state more prosperous and livable.
Kanyi Daily recalls that Chukwuma Soludo charged the newly inaugurated members of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to increase the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).
