A middle-aged man has been arrested by the Bayelsa State Police Command for allegedly beheading his girlfriend
The incident transpired in the early hours of Saturday in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman for the Command, Musa Mohammed, stated that the suspect was on the brink of escaping the crime scene but was apprehended by neighbors and subsequently surrendered to the police.
The police also verified that the suspect and the victim were cohabiting, despite not being married.
Mohammed added that officers from the Command had removed the victim’s remains and deposited them at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa
“The Divisional Police Officer of Sagbama Division got the report and dispatched officers to the crime scene, who found out that the suspect had been apprehended by community youths.
“The suspect is being interrogated and will soon be charged to court while the remains of the deceased have been evacuated to the mortuary at Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa,” the police spokesman said.
