A Tanzanian woman Elsie, suffering from a rare condition known as Hirsutism, which causes facial hair growth, has shared her challenges and experiences with the condition.
It was gathered Elsie, a mother of one, has carried the burden of Hirsutism since childhood, facing numerous obstacles due to the condition.
In an interview with Wasafi Media, Elsie shared her difficulties in finding love and dating, stressing that she is often mistaken as a transgender by those unfamiliar with her condition.
Elsie revealed that many people have labeled her as transgender, leading to fear among men who want to pursue a romantic relationship with her.
She explained that whenever a man approaches her, they frequently inquire about her gender and loses interest once they discover her facial hair.
Despite these challenges, Elsie said she has embraced her unique identity, attributing it to a divine purpose. She emphasized that she is no different from any other woman.
“I accepted myself because it’s natural. I was given by God. But there are a lot of challenges that I do face. Some people think I am transgender, but I would like to clarify that I am a woman.
“I have been blessed with one daughter and I am just okay. Many people wonder when they see me because I look different, but I am just like any other woman. Men fear me and they go around asking my friends if I am a real woman or transgender,” she said.
