Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo has stirred up controversy with his opinion about men of God and the state of churches today.
During an interview on Channels TV, when asked directly if he considered himself a man of God, Okonkwo responded, “I am not a man of God; I am a child of God.”
The actor and politician explained that he felt unequipped to shoulder the responsibilities that accompany the title of a man of God.
Kenneth Okonkwo further expressed his concerns about the misuse of religion for personal gain.
He stated that many self-proclaimed men of God exploit their followers’ faith and trust to amass wealth and other benefits for themselves.
The actor voiced serious reservations regarding the ethical standards of contemporary churches, going as far as to describe some as “the devil’s headquarters.”
Okonkwo implied that certain churches have become breeding grounds for immoral and nefarious activities.
His remarks ignited discussions about the role of men of God, the integrity of religious institutions, and the need for transparency and accountability within religious communities.
