Nollywood actress, Eniola Ajao has appealed to Nigerians for support in promoting her new movie project in cinemas.
Eniola Ajao faced backlash after the premiere of her movie, Beast of Two Worlds: Ajakaju, where she honored Nigerian transgender, Bobrisky with the Best Dressed Female award.
This decision sparked criticism from many Nigerians, who viewed it as disrespectful to women in attendance.
Eniola Ajao has since expressed concern about the negative impact on her reputation and brand.
In a TikTok live session, she pleaded with Nigerians to watch her movie, revealing that she had invested her personal resources, including selling off properties, to finance the project.
Addressing the controversy with Bobrisky, Eniola clarified that she does not seek attention or engage in publicity stunts.
The actress emphasized the importance of the film to her career and urged viewers to support her endeavor.
Speaking amidst tears in an emotional video, Eniola Ajao said, “Tell everybody to go out for me, please don’t let me be in debt, I don’t have anything. All I had was what I put into this project.
“Please support me in the name of God, I don’t come out to do clout or stunt. It’s because of this film, I was thinking of how I will sell the film, so I used Bobrisky. I don’t want to dwell too much on that,
“I plead with Nigerians in the name of God, help me go out. This is a film that the whole industry came out to watch and they gave good reviews. It’s a film that I can be boastful about and walk with my heads up.”
