Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi joined friends, family, and colleagues to bid farewell to the late actor John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu, in a funeral held in Nkanu West, Enugu State.
Heart-wrenching videos of the funeral have been shared on social media, showing undertakers carrying his coffin while live music played.
The atmosphere was filled with grief as loved ones gathered to say their final goodbyes to Mr Ibu who is known for playing a pivotal role in showcasing Nollywood on a global stage.
Mr Ibu’s burial was attended by many notable figures, adding a touch of grandeur to the occasion. Peter Obi’s arrival was met with cheers from his supporters, briefly lifting the somber mood.
Veteran actor Victor Osuagwu, along with other colleagues like Charles Inojie and Charles Aurum, also attended to honor their late friend.
