An explosive device went off at the Action People’s Party (APP) office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
It was gathered that the explosion happened around midnight, breaking a nearby window.
The Rivers State Police Command responded quickly, sending two security vehicles and officers to the scene in the new GRA area, where activities are continuing as usual.
The APP, a relatively unknown party in Rivers State, recently gained attention by setting up its office in an upscale area of Port Harcourt.
There are rumors that some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), unhappy with their party’s current leadership in the state, are backing the APP.
This incident has raised questions about the APP’s sudden rise in popularity in Rivers State.
Meanwhile, Rivers State Police Commissioner Tunji Disu announced that an investigation into the explosion is ongoing.
Disu urged residents to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.
He made these comments after leading a team of officers to inspect the APP office in the new GRA.
Despite the explosion, APP officials stated they will continue their activities and will not be intimidated by such actions.
KanyiDaily had also reported how an explosion caused by a planted Improvised Explosive Device, went off at the popular Buni Yadi market in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
