Napoli has agreed to loan Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray, following the collapse of his potential moves to Chelsea and Al-Hilal.
Victor Osimhen was close to joining Chelsea on a loan deal with an obligation to buy on the transfer deadline day, but the deal fell through when he couldn’t agree on contract terms.
With Chelsea no longer an option and Al-Ahli shifting their focus to Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Osimhen was left in a difficult position.
Meanwhile, Napoli had already signed Romelu Lukaku, leaving no place for Osimhen.
The Italian club also excluded him from their squad list for the new Serie A season, creating uncertainty about his future.
However, Galatasaray, the Turkish champions, made a bold move to secure Osimhen on a season-long loan, taking advantage of the extended transfer window in Turkey, which remains open until September 13.
Football Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reported that Galatasaray offered to cover Osimhen’s full salary, around £240,000 per week, and that Napoli has approved the loan move.
According to him, the deal does not include an option or obligation to buy, and Galatasaray has sent a delegation to Italy to persuade Osimhen to join their team.

If he agrees to the move, Osimhen will join a strong squad featuring players like Mauro Icardi, Hakim Ziyech, and Michy Batshuayi.
He would also face Fenerbahce’s new manager, Jose Mourinho, in the Turkish league, and his move could have implications for Tottenham, who are set to play Galatasaray in an upcoming Europa League match.
KanyiDaily had reported how Victor Osimhen was removed from Napoli’s Serie A squad list for the 2024-25 season and his number 9 shirt was given to new signing, Romelu Lukaku.
