DSS Reportedly Takes Over SERAP Office In Abuja, Demands Access To Directors

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly taken over the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).

SERAP shared this news on its official page on Monday, stating that DSS officers were at their office and asking to meet with their directors.

The organisation called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene immediately and order the DSS to stop what it calls an unjust assault on its rights and those of Nigerians.

The post read: “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.

“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”

Details about why the DSS has taken these actions or what their motives are remain unclear.

However, it comes barely hours after DSS operatives arrested Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
