Wike made this announcement during the flag-off ceremony for the construction of an access road from Ring Road 1 to the Judges’ Quarters in Katampe District, Abuja.

He expressed concern over the growing number of beggars in Abuja, warning that anyone still begging after the deadline will face arrest by enforcement officers.

Wike noted that the increasing presence of beggars poses a security risk and is an embarrassment to the capital city and the country.

The minister urged their families to take them off the streets before the FCT Administration begins strict enforcement next week.
