Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is mourning the death of his father, who passed away on Friday.
Stanley Nwabali’s father died shortly after Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Benin Republic in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
Nwabali, who was part of the team that played at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, announced the tragic news on his social media account on Friday.
The Chippa United player did not reveal the cause of his father’s passing but shared his sorrow with an emotional post.
He simply wrote, “Rest in peace, dad,” and “Rest in heaven,” accompanied by tearful and heartbreak emojis, expressing his deep grief.
