Afrobeats star, Asake has reportedly parted ways with YBNL and his label boss, Olamide.
The rumors began after fans noticed that Asake had unfollowed Olamide on Instagram, removed YBNL from his bio, and wiped his account of all posts.
Popular Instagram blogger, Cutie Juls reported that Asake’s contract with YBNL recently ended and he declined to sign a new deal offered to him by Olamide.
The blogger claimed that despite Olamide’s efforts to convince him, Asake decided to walk away from the negotiations two weeks ago, choosing to pursue an independent career instead.
Cutie Juls added that there is still hope for reconciliation, but for now, Olamide appears to be seeking new talent for the label.
The post reads, “Asake leaves YBNL and dumps OLAMIDE. Insiders says Asake’s contract with Olamide’s YBNL expired and when OLAMIDE presented Asake with a new contract, Asake refused to sign”.
“OLAMIDE apparently tried everything in his books to renew his record label with Asake but Asake refused”.
“The final straw happened two [2] weeks ago when Asake walked out completely out of the deal opting to be his own boss”.
“Hopefully they will be able to resolve and get Asake to stay. As it is now, OLAMIDE is looking for new artists“?Hmmm 👩🦯”.
Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and quickly rose to fame with his hit track “Sungba”. His career has been marked by incredible achievements, including selling out the O2 Arena twice.
KanyiDaily recalls that in 2023, Asake recently disclosed that he begged Olamide for two years before he agreed to sign him to the record label.
