Togolese cook who killed His Boss Has Been Arrested
The Ondo State Police Command on Friday arrested the Togolese cook who killed his boss – Chief Opeyemi Bademosi after working for just only three days.
The cook, Sunday Anani, a Togolese, stabbed his boss with a knife in the residence of Chief Opeyemi Bademosi at Onikoyi Lane, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, on Wednesday, three days after he was employed.
The 22-year-old suspect fled the scene with some valuables belonging to his boss after committing the crime.
The fleeing cook, later identified as Sunday Anani, 22 years old, was arrested by homicide detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department, Yaba. He is now undergoing interrogation he was arrested along with two other suspects, whose identities were not revealed by the police at the Ondo State Police Command Headquarters on Friday, around 9.30am on Friday in Yaba, Ondo Town.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, said the suspect would be handed over to the Lagos State Police Command.
Mr. Femi Joseph said It will be recalled that on Wednesday, the cook of Chief Opeyemi Bademosi reportedly stabbed his boss to death and fled. The police declared him wanted and as luck would have it for us today (Friday), the DPO, Fagun division, Ondo Town, SP Olajide Samuel, and his team were able to track and arrest the suspect along with two others in Ondo Town.
He is in our custody and has been giving us useful information. We will not want to talk much about the suspect for now in order not to jeopardise our investigation. He is still giving us useful information.
He has said many things that will be useful to us. We still want to remain silent on the information he has given us. As soon as we complete our investigation in Ondo and Lagos, we shall surely let the public know what really transpired and how the incident took place.
The suspect was not allowed to talk to journalists during the parade.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Chike Oti, in a statement on Friday, confirmed that the suspect was being interrogated at the command.
