Tottenham football star, Dele Alli was battered by knife-wielding robbers who stole hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of valuables at his home in north London.
The 24-year-old was held at knifepoint and punched hit in the face after two burglars broke into his home during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It was gathered that five people were in the house during the robbery – including the 24-year-old England international who has been isolating with his brother Harry Hickford, their two partners and a long-term friend.
Following a scuffle, during which Alli suffered a minor facial injury, the two robbers took various items including jewellery and watches before fleeing.
The Metropolitan Police in a statement confirmed that two of the male residents were assaulted during the incidents, but no arrests have currently been made, while enquiries into the circumstances are continuing.
“Police were called at approximately 00:35 BST on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address,” the statement reads.
“Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.
“Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.
“There have been no arrests. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
Writing on his Twitter page, Alli said: “Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we’re all okay now. Appreciate the support.”
