Afrobeats superstar, Davido has made a surprise appearance at Times Square in New York to visit Nigerian Chess master Tunde Onakoya.
Onakoya is currently attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon, aiming for 58 hours of continuous play, which he began on Wednesday.
Throughout his marathon, Onakoya has maintained an undefeated streak, including a notable victory against New York’s National Chess Master, Shawn Martinez.
Davido, fresh from a sold-out performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden, attended the event to show support for his fellow Nigerian.
Videos circulating on social media captured the moment when Davido and the jubilant chess master embraced and celebrated together.
Tunde Onakoya’s marathon is set to conclude today, April 19th, marking a remarkable feat in the world of chess endurance.
