The loudest purr by a domestic cat is 67.7 dB (LA peak) and was achieved by Smokey, owned by Lucinda Ruth Adams (UK) at Spring Hill farm, Pitsford, Northampton, UK, on 25 March 2011.
Smokey is a domestic cat and achieved its record in its home, where it felt relaxed and happy. Accessories used during the record attempt include a grooming brush, slices of ham and stroking by hand.
The measurement was made by Class 1 sound level meter NA-28 by RION in the presence of a vet, a representative of Northampton Cats Protection, a local MP, and a sound engineer.
The LC peak was measured at 86.3 dB. The measurement was taken from a distance of one metre.

The fastest time to enter a zipped suitcase is 5.43 seconds achieved by Leslie Tipton (USA) on 14 September 2009 in New York, USA on the LIVE! with Regis & Kelly show.
Most needles inserted into the head
The most needles on the head is 2,009 and was achieved by Wei Shengchu (China) on the set of Lo Show dei Record, in Milan, Italy, on 11 April 2009.
Most steps walked down by a dog facing forwards balancing a glass of water
The most steps walked down by a dog facing forwards while balancing a 141 g (5 oz) glass of water is 10, achieved by Sweet Pea, an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie owned by Alex Rothacker (USA), at the Sport und Schau Show, Verden, Germany, on 05 January 2008.
Most spoons balanced on the face
The most spoons balanced on the face is 17 and was achieved by Aaron Caissie (Canada) on the set of Lo Show dei Record, in Milan, Italy, on 18 April 2009.
Longest fingernails
The longest fingernails belonged to Lee Redmond (USA), who started to grow them in 1979 and carefully manicured them to reach a total length of 8.65 m (28 ft 4.5 in) as measured on the set of Lo show dei record in Madrid, Spain, on 23 February 2008. Lee lost her nails in an automobile accident in early 2009

Kanchana Ketkaew (Thailand), lived in a glass room measuring 12 m² (130 ft²) containing 5,320 scorpions for 33 days and nights at the Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya, Thailand, from 22 December 2008 to 24 January 2009. Over the 33 days, she was stung thirteen times.
Largest whoopee cushion
The largest whoopee cushion measured 3.05 m (10 ft) in diameter. It was made by Steve Mesure (UK) on behalf of Street Vibe for an event at The Scoop in London, UK, on 14 June 2008.
Largest screwdriver
The largest screwdriver is owned by Thomas Blackthorne (UK). It has an acrylic handle which measures 19.5 cm (7.6 in) at its widest point and is 50 cm (19.6 in) long. The steel shaft is 25 mm (1 in) thick and projects a further 51 cm (20 in), making the overall length 101 cm (39.7 in).
