Nollywood actor and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in the Delta State, Nigeria, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has debunked rumours he had died in a ghastly accident Tuesday.
The actor whose SUV was damaged beyond repair survived the accident with minor injuries while his driver is still in critical condition at the hospital.
In a statement he issued Wednesday, he said “…contrary to the rumours yesterday that I was in a coma, unconscious and even dead, I am alive and well. God kept us (my driver and I) alive by His hands.”
RMD thanked his fans and the general public for their prayers and well wishes, calling on them to continue praying for his driver.
This is to say thank you and a big God bless you all for the prayers and well wishes especially those expressed towards my driver following the accident yesterday in Delta State. I am very ok but my driver is still in critical condition. Please keep him in your prayers. We are believing God to arise on his behalf and restore him to full health, he said.
Commenting on the guys who ran into his car, the sensational actor asserted that, “As for the guys who rammed into us I have no idea where they are but we pray for them too… It is well.”
RMD ended the statement on a humorous note. Thanking the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Segun Arinze, he said, “My president Segun Eye rinze, sorry Arinze well done.”
