Associated Press today wednesday July 2014 caused a stir on Twitter after it tweeted what many believed to be another plane crash.
AP a reputable news agency actually meant to tweet that a Dutch military plane carrying bodies from the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 which was shot down by rebels at the Russia-Ukraine border on July 17, 2014 had landed at Eindhoven, Netherlands but sort of tweeted the message in a ”wrong format (thanks to bad punctuation skills).
Twitter users didn’t find the tweet funny with many of them going hard at AP. Some of their tweets include:
‘Mess up grammar on the net & may God have mercy on your soul‘, a user wrote.
‘Punctuation and phrasing is very, very important. @AP was just reminded of this‘, another user wrote.
Associated Press having realised their error sent out an update. ‘CLARIFIES: Dutch military plane carrying Malaysia Airlines bodies lands in Eindhoven‘
