Governor Ambode Of Lagos State Receives Bitter Rival ‘Sanwo-olu’ In His Office After Primary Election
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State who accepted his loss of the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to his bitter rival, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, receives him in his office on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Sanwo-Olu was accompanied by his running mate Obafemi Hamzat and a handful of loyalists into Ambode’s office in Alausa for a meeting which is reported to have has everything to do with the decision to collapse the campaign teams of Sanwo-olu, President Buhari, godfather Bola Tinubu and Ambode into one.
The is the second time both men are meeting in public after a bitter Lagos APC governorship primary election of October 2, 2018.
They first met publicly after the primary election, in Abuja; during the national APC convention where the party faithful endorsed Buhari for the presidency.
Before the APC governorship, primary election when Governor Ambode was literally fighting for his life. The doors leading to his second term ticket to office are being firmly slammed to his face by powers bigger than him, called Sanwo-Olu a misfit who once sprayed fake dollars at a US nite club and who is still undergoing rehabilitation at the Gbagada General Hospital in mainland Lagos. He said:
“This particular aspirant as you all know, you can go and check, the records are there. This is somebody that has been arrested for spending fake American Dollars in a nightclub in America and he’s been detained for months with mugshots before all these campaigns started.
“It’s also known that he doesn’t have the competence to do what he’s been promoted for saying he is going to do, he doesn’t have the competence to do what he is saying he can do. The records are there in Gbagada General Hospital, this is somebody that has been rehabilitated before….”
However, both men appeared to have now mended fences. Ambode even promised to campaign vigorously for Jide Sanwo-Olu and President Buhari ahead of the 2019 general elections.
