President Muhammadu Buhari has been confronted by his kinsmen over poor power supply in Daura, Katsina state.
President Buhari who is currently in Daura, his home town for the Sallah Holiday, was informed by his kinsmen that they only enjoy power supply whenever he is in town.
While receiving some of his community leaders and elders in his home on Tuesday, August 13th, one of the leaders, Mohammed Saleh, complained bitterly about the epileptic power supply they suffer whenever he is not in town,
According to Saleh, whenever the President is in town, they enjoy 24 hours power supply.
“Anytime the President is around we enjoy 24 hours power supply. But if he is not around, the power supply is not always stable,” Saleh said.
Responding, Buhari said, “Truly, the people know and understand my mission. This is what the votes showed. The administration will dwell on our campaign issues — security, economy, and corruption. We will fight for the poor.”
Meanwhile, Buhari has moved to end Nigeria’s power crisis by signing a major electricity deal with German Government and Siemens AG to upgrade the country’s power transmission & distribution infrastructure.
The deal will see Siemens generating 7,000 megawatts by 2021 and 11,000 megawatts by 2023 in a country faced with erratic power supply.
