Hon Kelechi Nwogu, the chairman of the Adhoc committee investigating the serial killings in Rivers State, said that any hotel that does not comply with CCTV installation order by the police will be sanctioned.
Nwogu stated this as he led members of his committee to pay a visit to Rivers State Commissioner of Police Mustapha Dandaura on Thursday, September 26, 2019.
“From the time you gave the directive as the commissioner of police that hoteliers should install CCTV camera they all agreed and left.
“We as an assembly would not spare those hotels that fail to comply with your directives and they will be sanctioned because if those directives were complied with we wouldn’t have recorded this number of deaths ” Nwogu said
Hon Kelechi Nwogu who expressed sadness at the killings also assured the police of the support of the Rivers state house of Assembly.
Reacting to the arrest of a serial killer named Gracious David West, Dandaura said, “this guy is a hardened criminal he is a real serial killer. Initially he agreed that he killed 5 in Port Harcourt, 1 in Lagos and 1 Owerri making 7, that was in the first briefing when we paraded him,
But upon investigations, we took him around all the hotels and the rooms where he killed the ladies and he confirmed the rooms and agreed that he killed all the 9″ Dandaura added.
