Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has reacted to reposts that he sacked his high-ranking Palace’s Chief, Alhaji Awwalu Maja Siddi, for celebrating Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
It was alleged that Emir Sanusi sacked Alhaji Auwalu for his participation in the grand reception in honour of Governor Ganduje who recently returned to the state.
Sanusi also reportedly ordered the chief to vacate his residence which he has been living in for about 30 years.
However, the Chief of Staff to the Emir, Munir Sanusi Bayero, denied the report and told newsmen that the story is fake.
Bayero said the baseless story is aimed at causing turmoil between the Emir and the state Governor. He said:
“Right now we are in Lagos and we have been here since yesterday and neither myself nor anyone else can confirm to you that such a thing as sacking Emir’s Staff had happened.
“I think the media should be cautious of what they report and its effects on the peaceful coexistence of the society in general,” Munir added.
A palace source also said the emirate only retrieved the keys of the emirate’s stable from the chief, following the discovery of some missing valuables in the stable.
Maja Siddin is the custodian of the emirate council stable for a long time.
Meanwhile, KanyiDaily had reported that Emir Sanusi and Governor have reconciled, following a peace meeting initiated by Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors’ Forum, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
