An Indian man resident in Lagos has been accused of guarding his house with a Lion he allegedly smuggled into Nigeria.
The bizarre incident happened at an apartment located in Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The Lagos State Environment Sanitation and Special Offence unit sent operatives to the house located at 229 Muri Okunola street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Head of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental Enforcement (The people that catch illegal street hawkers) Mr Yinka Egbeyemi, confirmed the report:
“Yes, we are on it. As we speak now, we have police officers and Black Maria surrounding the building”
Mr Yinka confirmed he got orders from the Commissioner of Environment and Ministry of Agriculture to Transquilize the lion.

The Indian reportedly told the Landlord he would live at the apartment when renting it but allegedly, he wanted to use the apartment as a home for the Lion.
Neighbors sighted the animal and resident an alarm.
