The Nigerian Police in Abuja has killed one and arrested four armed robbers who stormed First bank Mpape, a satellite town in Abuja.
The robbers, who broke into the bank around 10 am this morning met resistance from the Police, Army and the Department of State Security, who cordoned the place minutes after responding to a distress call.
The armed robbers were stuck inside the bank for over four hours before they decided to engage in a shootout with the officers.
Eventually, Four out of six armed robbers who invaded the bank were apprehended and one killed.
The armed robbers were said to have stormed the bank shooting sporadically into the air to scare people away.
They were said to have succeeded in gaining entry into the banking hall. But shortly after gaining access, the police and army arrived at the scene.
It was gathered that one of the robbers who made attempt to force his way out was shot but remained indoor with gunshots injury.
As at the time of writing this report, the security agents are making efforts to break into the bank to arrest the last one and end the siege.
