“131 In Lagos, 25 In Ogun” – Nigeria Records 226 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Rises To 6401
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 226 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infection in the country to 6,401.
In a tweet on Tuesday night, the NCDC said the new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in 15 states including the FCT.
The 226 new cases are 131 in Lagos, 25 in Ogun, 15 in Plateau, 11 in Edo, seven in Kaduna, six in Oyo, and five each in the Federal Capital Territory and Adamawa.
Jigawa, Ebonyi, and Borno have four new cases each, Nasarawa – three, Bauchi and Gombe- two each with one each in Enugu and Bayelsa.
A total of 90 coronavirus patients have been discharged across the country with one death in the last 24 hours. This brings to 1,734 the total number of successfully treated cases with the death toll now 192.
“On the 19th of May 2020, 226 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“Till date, 6401 cases have been confirmed, 1734 cases have been discharged and 192 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” NCDC said.
