Nigerians Attack Bashir Ahmed For Saying Second Niger Bridge Is Buhari’s ‘Gift’ To Citizens
Bashir Ahmed, Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, has come under heavy fire on social media after saying that the ongoing construction of the Second Niger Bridge would be a gift to Nigerians when completed.
The bridge which crosses the Niger River between the cities of Asaba in the west and Onitsha in the east, was initiated by the former President Goodluck Jonathan, but the project is being constructed by the Buhari-led administration with Nigerian funds.
In a tweet on Sunday, Bashir Ahmed said when the second Niger Bridge is completed, it will be a ‘gift’ that will keep President Buhari in the minds of millions Nigerians for a very long time.

Many Nigerians who disagreed with him are currently dragging him on Twitter for taking a project done with public funds to promote the goodwill of his boss.
"Second Niger Bridge will be a gift to Nigerians".-Bashir Ahmad
Buhari used his personal money to build the bridge for Nigerians. What a leader! We are grateful for his philanthropic leadership. 🙏 https://t.co/qq90KyL0fp

Bashir Ahmad said the Niger Bridge is a gift to Nigerians from the President. This present government is doing the most, making the citizens see their entitlements as a "Gift".

Bashir, this is the same pictures you people have been circulating since 2019, do you just want to deceive your gullible followers that work is moving smoothly as possible on the bridge? Or you are just doing some low budget propaganda work, hyping up a failed government pic.twitter.com/A9DQaEjjSM

I agree with you, Bashir.
The completion of a basic infrastructure by the President elected by the citizens would be a big gift for Nigeria.
Don't mind these ungrateful lots. They don't know how lucky we are to have Buhari, who has made our economy the envy of other Nations. https://t.co/jatttVayBR

If completing the Niger Bridge is a GIFT to Nigerians from the President (according to Sir Bashir) then what exactly are the responsibilities of the President?

The kind of accolades Bashir and co and looking for, you will think that this 2nd Niger bridge is a new one and not the same one they claim to have be working on for the past 5yrs.
2nd Niger Bridge starting to look like Amaechi’s monorail abi Lagos’ light rail project.

This Bashir is always stupid, "Gift" is the money used for building the bridge from Buhari's Daura farm or what? When has providing basic amenities to citizens become a gift? Incompetence describes Buhari as a whole. https://t.co/gRZgVbiQgc

If the successive administrations had lived up to expectations, Bashir will not be saying building an infrastructure is a gift to Nigerians.
I don’t blame you Bashir, I blame the failed project called Nigeria. https://t.co/cqXujcNmM3— Malik Adinoyi (@_adinoyi) May 18, 2020
