The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi has blasted Nigerians for downplaying his suggestions on the potency of herbal medicine to cure coronavirus.
The monarch who had appealed to Nigeria to use natural methods on coronavirus, was reacting to Madagascar’s breakthrough in finding a herbal cure for the virus.
KanyiDaily had reported that the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina officially launched a local herbal remedy claimed to prevent and cure the novel coronavirus.
The herbal drink, which is called ‘Covid-Organics’ or CVO, is derived from artemisia – a plant with proven efficacy in malaria treatment – and other indigenous herbs.
President Rajoelina said the drink is effective against the coronavirus as it strengthens the body’s immune system.
“Tests have been carried out – two people have now been cured by this treatment. This herbal tea gives results in seven days,” he added.
Reacting to the the development on his Twitter page, Oba Ogunwusi said:
“It’s a shame. The Ooni prescribed Herbal Medicine for Nigerians, they didn’t believe him, told him he is not a doctor of what he inherited from his ancestors. Now another country took it up and also upgraded it – Madagascar.
“China as a Nation used herbal means to cure more than 70% of their COVID-19 cases. It’s on record. Going forward in this country, let us use local means to proffer local solutions to all our problems.”

Adeleye said his cure had been subjected to scientific proof, adding that he was ready to treat five coronavirus positive patients for free right in front of the cameras to prove the efficacy of his treatment.
