Chelsea Football Club (CFC) on Thursday confirmed the £47.5m signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on a five-year deal.
The 24-year-old has joined the Blues after they saw off competition from Liverpool to seal the transfer as they paid his release clause.
Werner has scored an impressive 32 times and registered 13 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this season for the Bundesliga side, and has emerged as one of the hottest strikers in world football.
He now joins Hakim Ziyech as signing for Frank Lampard‘s side ahead of the upcoming campaign with exciting times expected at Stamford Bridge.
Discussing his move to west London, Werner told the official Chelsea website:

Warner made a total of 157 appearances for RB Leipzig, scoring 93 goals and making 40 assists, developing into one of Europe’s most coveted forwards.
The 24-year-old will remain with RB Leipzig for the remaining of the Bundesliga season before joining up with his new team-matesnin Chelsea next month.
