The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested 25 traffic officials over alleged drivers’ licence and vehicle particulars’ fraud in Lagos State.
Those arrested includes officials of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIOs), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Motor Vehicle Licensing Authority (MVLA) in connection with driving licence and vehicle particulars fraud in Lagos State.

The ICPC spokesperson, Mrs Azuka Ogugua, in a statement on Thursday said the commission received information that officials were conniving with touts to extort money from applicants before their driving licences and vehicle particulars were processed.
“Various sums of money and several incriminating documents and equipment were retrieved from the suspects during the operation,” the statement said.
The spokesperson added that the officials had been granted administrative bail and would be arraigned after investigations.
She vowed that more of the operations will be conducted “in order to rid motor licensing administration of fraud being perpetrated on the public.”
