“35 In Plateau, 21 In Kaduna” – Nigeria Confirms 143 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Hits 54,008
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 143 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infection to 54,008.
The NCDC made this known on Monday night via its Twitter handle, where it disclosed that Plateau State recorded the highest number of infections with 35 cases, followed by Kaduna State with 21 cases.
Other states with new COVID-19 cases includes Lagos-19, FCT-13, Ebonyi-9, Adamawa-7, Enugu-7, Katsina-7, Edo-6, Kwara-5, Osun-3, Anambra-2, Kano-2, Niger-2, Ogun-2, Benue-1, Borno-1, Sokoto-1.
The health centre further revealed that 41,638 patients have now been discharged across the country, while 1,013 patients died from COVID-19 complications.
“On the 31st of August 2020, 143 new confirmed cases and 0 deaths were recorded in Nigeria,” NCDC said.
“The 143 new cases are reported from 18 states- Plateau (35), Kaduna (21), Lagos (19), FCT (13), Ebonyi (9), Adamawa (7), Enugu (7), Katsina (7), Edo (6), Kwara (5), Osun (3), Anambra (2), Kano (2), Niger (2), Ogun (2), Benue (1), Borno (1), Sokoto (1).
“Till date, 54008 cases have been confirmed, 41638 cases have been discharged and 1013 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”
