“42 In Lagos, 25 In Abuja” – Nigeria Records 124 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Rises To 54,587

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 124 new cases of coronavirus in the country, bringing the total number of cases to 54,587.

The NCDC made this known on Thursday night via its Twitter handle, where is disclosed that Lagos State recorded the highest number of infections with 42 cases, followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 25 cases.

Other states with new COVID-19 cases includes Katsina-14, Kaduna-11, Kwara-8, Ondo-7, Delta-4, Anambra-3, Oyo-3, Edo-2, Ogun-2, Osun-2, Cross River-1.

The health centre further revealed that 42,627 patients have now been discharged, with 1,048 patients losing their lives to the coronavirus pandemic.

“On the 3rd of September 2020, 124 new confirmed cases and 21 deaths were recorded in Nigeria,” NCDC said.

“The 124 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos (42), FCT (25), Katsina (14), Kaduna (11), Kwara (8), Ondo (7), Delta (4), Anambra (3) Oyo (3), Edo (2), Ogun (2), Osun (2), Cross River (1).

“Till date, 54588 cases have been confirmed, 42627 cases have been discharged and 1048 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
