The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has conceded defeat after losing the Edo State governorship election to Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
KanyiDaily recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Obaseki winner of the governorship election after he polled 307,955 votes to defeat Ize-Iyamu, who got 223,619 votes.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Ize-Iyamu congratulated the opposition party for winning the election in accordance to the will of Edo people.
“Edo people has decided, we thank you all! Congratulations to the opposition party! They have won! Election no be war. It’s time to work more harder for the next 4 years. Congratulations.”

Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki has reacted to his re-election after he was declared winner of the governorship election in the state.
