“41 In Lagos, 19 In Rivers” – Nigeria Records 118 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Rises To 59,583
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 118 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total infections in the country to 59,583.
The NCDC made this known on Tuesday night via its Twitter handle, where it disclosed that Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with 41 infections, followed by Rivers State with 19 cases.
Other states with new COVID-19 cases includes Osun-17, Nasarawa-13, Kaduna-5, Anambra-5, Edo-3, Ogun-3, Kwara-3, Ondo-3, Katsina-2, Niger-2, Plateau-1 and Akwa Ibom-1.
The health centre further revealed that 51,308 patients have been discharged across the country, while 1,113 persons have died as a result of the coronavirus infections.
“On the 6th of October 2020, 118 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria,” NCDC said.
“The 118 new cases are reported from 13 states – Lagos (41), Rivers (19), Osun (17), Nasarawa (13), Kaduna (5), Anambra (5), Edo (3), Ogun (3), Ondo (3), Katsina (2), Niger (2), Plateau (1), Akwa Ibom (1).
“Till date, 59583 cases have been confirmed, 51308 cases have been discharged and 1113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
