Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
Sanwo-Olu went into self-isolation yesterday after one of his close aides tested positive for COVID-19 on December 10.
The Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, in a statement yesterday said that Mr Sanwo-Olu and some members of his cabinet would remain in isolation until the results of the tests are available.
Lagos State commissioner for information Gbenga Omotoso while confirming the news about the governor testing positive said:
“A PCR test performed yesterday the 11th of December has confirmed that he has indeed been infected with the virus,”
The governor is currently showing mild symptoms and fatigue.
Governor Sanwo-Olu has reportedly started receiving treatment for coronavirus.
Members of the Senate Public Accounts Committee (SPAC) chaired by Senator Mathew Urhogbide (PDP, Edo) were shocked at the discovery of the bogus expenditures on the three items by the Ministry.
Specifically the sum of N14.5million was spent on Schneider pens, N46million for the Ministry’s letterhead papers and N56million for the supply of tonners.
