Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has travelled to the United States of America for a medical check-up from Sunday, December 13, 2020, to Saturday, December 29, 2020.
The governor notified the state House of Assembly about the two-week trip in a letter read on Monday by the Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
The letter was titled “Notification to Travel to the United States of America”, reads:
“I wish to inform the Rt Hon Speaker that I shall be travelling to the United States of America for a medical check-up from Sunday, 13th to Saturday, December 29 2020.
“Accordingly, in my absence, the deputy governor would oversee the affairs of the state pending my return.”
This coming amidst calls by the Nigerian Senate ordering the State House officials to restrain President Muhammadu Buhari, from embarking on foreign trips for medical treatment.
The Senate said that the President and other top officials of his government should no longer be flown abroad for medical treatment.
