UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman has retained his title after knocking out his opponent, Jorge Masvidal, in the second round in the main event of UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday.
After a tense first round, that actually saw Masvidal defend Usman’s wrestling technique pretty damn well, it was all over minutes later thanks to an absolute bomb dropped by the Nigerian fighter on the opponent’s jaw.
With the second round brewing nicely, Masvidal mistakingly decided to laugh in the face of Usman, only to be asleep on the canvas just seconds later.
Usman landed with a huge blow, sending Masvidal straight to the ground, before a couple more for good measure sewed up the fight and ended the night for both fighters.

This was the second time the two fighters had shared the Octagon together, with the first fight taking place back in July of 2020 when Usman defeated Masvidal via an unanimous decision in a fairly one-sided bout.
With Sunday’s victory, Usman recorded the second-longest winning streak in UFC history with 14 straight victories. Only Anderson Silva has more consecutive wins in UFC history (16).
KanyiDaily recalls that two months ago, Kamaru Usman knocked out Gilbert Burns in the third round to retain his UFC welterweight title.
