Prince Philip, Husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 99
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II and the longest-serving consort of any British monarch is dead.
Prince Philip died today 9th April 2021 at the ripe age of 99.
According to BBC news, Buckingham Palace released a statement breaking the sad news by saying:
“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. The royal family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”
The statement said “further announcements” will be made in “due course”.

Prince Philip Cause of Death
Prince Philip cause of death has not been announced. Over the recent years, The Duke had suffered failing health and retired from duties in 2017. He was discharged from the hospital few weeks ago, on the same day Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey exclusive interview was aired.
The royal family was in the midst of preparing for his 100th birthday celebration on June 10.
Queen Elizabeth described Prince Philip as her “strength and stay”, plus her key source of support throughout their 73-year marriage and her record-breaking reign.
He is survived by the Queen and their children Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
He had eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The 50-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper suffered a heart attack last week, reportedly related to a drug overdose, and has been in critical condition since then.
On Thursday evening, rumors that DMX had died spread on the social media after comedian Luenell posted a confusing Instagram story in which she wrote “It is over. My friend is gone. Soar with the eagles, join the best that ever did it RIP… DMX.”
