Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has condemned the recent visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Ghana to discuss how to return peace to Mali.
President Buhari and other West African leaders had travelled to Ghana on Sunday to find a solution for peace to be returned to Mali after its second coup in nine months.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Omokri wondered how Buhari can bring peace to Mali when there is no peace in his own country.
“What an irony that @MBuhari traveled to Ghana to discuss with ECOWAS leaders on how to return peace to Mali. How can Buhari bring peace to Mali when there is no peace in Nigeria. Last week, more people were killed in Nigeria than were killed in Mali throughout May!,” he wrote.
“Mali’s situation is better than our current state. Mali at least has a leader. Nigeria doesn’t have a leader. We have an occupant of the office of President. But the occupant isn’t leading. He is just warning the seat until, God willing, we get a real leader in 2023.”
KanyiDaily had reported how Mali’s president and prime minister tendered their resignations, two days after they were arrested by mutinous military.
