The Nigeria Police Force have arrested some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The IPOB members were arrested on Monday within the court premises chanting slogans in support their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who will be arraigned today.

KanyiDaily had earlier reported that Nnamdi Kanu will be arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako on the charges of possession of illegal firearms, terrorism and Treasonable felony, which carries the death penalty.

IPOB members appeared at the Federal High Court in the green, yellow and red colours of the IPOB flag while others were dressed in Jewish attire. They were arrested by the police while others fled on foot.

Police Pulls Gun On IPOB Member At Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial

A yet-to-be identified police officer was caught on camera pulling a pistol on an IPOB member who was in the court premises to show solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu.

In the video, the police officer was addressing some IPOB members who were in the court premises before he took offence with a comment from one of the agitators.

The police officer proceeded to chase down the agitator before pulling his pistol in an apparent attempt to shoot the IPOB member at the court premises.

The trial comes following the arrest and extradition of Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria on Sunday, June 27, after he jumped bail and fled the country in 2017.
