Lagos State Police Command has redeployed the Denton Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Adegoke Akinlade, after he lost his service pistol during an alleged sex romp with a 29-year-old woman, Jennifer Madueke.
KanyiDaily had reported how CSP Atilade invited Madueke to his office on Friday and slept with her till Saturday morning, leading to his missing service pistol.
Atilade was said to have detained Madueke over his missing gun at the Denton Police Station, Ebute Meta, Lagos, where she was allegedly tortured to confess to the crime.
After torturing and detaining her for three days at the police station, he then transferred her to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.
Although Atilade denied sleeping with Madueke before he lost his gun, Lagos State Police Command has ordered this redeployment for an investigation into the matter.
In a statement on Friday, the Command’s spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who did not state the new place of assignment of the embattled officer, said a new DPO will resume at the station anytime from now.
The Command’s statement titled, “Alleged Theft Of Service Pistol, Sex In Office: Lagos CP Orders Thorough, Unbiased Investigation”, reads:
“This is to inform the general public that the Lagos State Police Command is not oblivious of the reported case of theft of service pistol against one Jenifer Madueke ‘f’ and the allegation of sex in the office against DPO Denton Police Division, CSP Adegoke Atilade as published on page 4 and 5 of today’s edition of the Punch.
