Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has appointed this year’s winner of Big Brother Naija, Hazel Oyeze, popularly called White Money, as the state’s creative arts ambassador.
White Money was given the appointment on Friday when he was hosted by Governor Ugwuanyi at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Enugu.
In a statement titled, “Gov Ugwuanyi receives Whitemoney, confers him with ‘Ambassador of Enugu State in Creative Arts’,” the governor described that reality star as a “worthy son of Enugu state.”
Governor Ugwuanyi said that White Money’s humility, godliness, and “consistency with the Enugu spirit”, endeared him to his fellow housemates and the viewing public.
Conferring the ambassadorial title on White Money, Ugwuanyi said, “I, therefore, call on the teeming Enugu youths to deploy their creative talents and skills to win more laurels for the state”.
The Governor said Whitemoney was “most deserving” of the position, adding, “We are very proud of you and wish you many more successes”.
In his response, the reality star appreciated the governor for the honour and warm reception. He also thanked the people of Enugu and promised to serve the state with all his heart.
He said, “Thank you so much Your Excellency; Daddy. I am grateful and I promise to serve this state with all my heart; with my best capacity to do what is right for the Enugu youth empowerment and growth of the community at large.”
“I have never changed, I am still cooking; the level has changed but I have not changed; I am still the same person,” he added.
Fellow BBNaija ex-housemates, Niyi Lawala and Emmanuel Umoh, accompanied Whitemoney on his visit to the State House.
Present at the event were the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Cecilia Ezeilo; the Secretary to the State Government and Director General of South East Governors’ Forum, Simon Ortuanya; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Festus Uzor; and other members of the State Executive Council.
Before the appointment, KanyiDaily had published a video showing the moment White Money was seen buying a plate of roasted yam at his favorite local spot in Enugu.
