Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has taken to social media to address the criticism over her decision to use a “random sperm donor” for the surrogacy of her daughter.
KanyiDaily recalls that Ini Edo had recently revealed that she welcomed a baby girl through surrogacy after a series of miscarriages in the past.
When asked why she opted for a random sperm donor during an interview with Stella Korkus, the actress said she made the decision for herself and her baby’s peace of mind.
Ini Edo said another major reason she opted for a donor was to avoid banters and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby in public forums or when the man start insisting he wants his child if things don’t work out between both parties.
The actress’s decision has since been criticised by some people who claimed that she created a big problem for her daughter, as every child deserves to know her father.
Reacting on her Instagram Story, Ini Edo revealed that her daughter’s donor is not just a random person, warning her critics to mind their business and focus on the problems of Nigeria.
She wrote: “My daughter’s donor is not just a random person doesn’t make him any more than a donor. Now you all can start to focus on what’s really important in this country and leave me alone.”
This comes after a renowned Ghanaian writer, Waterz Yidana said that Ini Edo’s decision to avoid a baby daddy is bad because her daughter will suffer identity crisis.
