Nigeria’s Super Eagle has cruised into round 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after beating Sudan 3-1 at the Stade Roumdé Adjia in Garoua, Cameroon.

Nigeria vs Sudan Result Analysis

During the game on Saturday, January 15, 202, Samuel Chukwueze set the ball rolling for the Super Eagles in the third minute from a Moses Simon pull-back.

Nigeria doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when the ball went in off Taiwo Awoniyi and Simon rolled in a third straight after half-time.

Walieldin Khedr pulled a goal back for Sudan from the penalty spot after Ola Aina was penalised for a challenge, but it was already job done for Nigeria.

With the three points already in the kitty, Coach Austin Eguavoen’s men have secured not just a place in the Round of 16 but also topped the Group D in the tournament.

Todays’s victory comes a few days after the Super Eagles of Nigeria claimed a key win to open their Group D campaign at the AFCON as they defeated Egypt last Tuesday evening.
