Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Blames Residents Using Hot Water For Bad Roads In Abia
Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has revealed why some of the newly constructed roads in the state are in a deplorable state.
During a recent radio interview, Governor Ikpeazu blamed the deplorable state of the roads on the activities of residents who dispose of hot water on the roads.
He said; “The attention of the contractor has been drawn to that road. But again it goes back to the behaviour of the people. If you go to Milverton by 10:00 p.m. you will be shocked.
“People on Faulks Road, every Sunday in the morning, will boil water beyond one hundred degrees centigrade, that water they use to defeather birds and chickens. They pour that water on asphalt. It baffles me”.
Governor Ikpeazu was recently criticized by his predecessor, Orji Uzor Kalu, for performing poorly on road constructions across the state, especially in business hotspots.
KanyiDaily had also reported how Rev. Fr David Okechukwu led his church members to protest and pray over the poor state of Ohanku road in Aba, the commercial centre of Abia State.
