DJ Cuppy, a disk jockey and daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has responded to a claim by popular American rapper, Kanye West, that he’s the richest black man in the world.
Kanye West Claims He’s The Richest Black Man
During a recent edition of ‘Hollywood Unlocked‘, a talk show, the 44-year-old rapper alleged that security operatives prevented him from visiting his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West, who reportedly worth $6.6 billion according to Bloomberg, also claimed he was not allowed to see his children despite “being the richest black man.”
He said, “Earlier this week, Monday, when I went to go pick my kids up from school, the security stopped me at the gate.
“So at that point, security was in between me and my children and that’s what was not going to happen. But I didn’t want to argue about it. So I just chilled, took my kids to school, and then took my kids back.
“I am driving. I bring them back and North was like, ‘I want you to come upstairs and see something. And it’s like, ‘Oh, Daddy can’t come see something. Daddy can’t come inside.’ But that hadn’t been defined.”
He added, “My daughter wanted me to go inside. I was like, I am the richest black man and North’s father, right, and the security was able to stop me from going into the room with my daughter and that had not been defined.
“And I am hearing that the new boyfriend is actually in the house that I can’t even go to. And that’s where I call my cousins. And my cousin is real opinionated, you know that. And I said, ‘I need you to go and say these two things.’
“Security ain’t going to be in between me and my children, and my children ain’t going to be on TikTok without my permission.”
DJ Cuppy Taunts Kanye West
Reacting to his claim on her Twitter page, the disk jockey said that though she is a fan of the rapper, he should know that her Godfather, Aliko Dangote, who is reportedly worth $13.5 billion according to Forbes, is the richest black man in the world.
She wrote, “Random, I know… I am a huge @KanyeWest fan. However, with all due respect, I feel the need to remind him that he is not the ‘richest black man’ – it is in fact my Godfather @AlikoDangote. Just clearing the air with #facts.”

KanyiDaily recalls that last year, Forbes had dismissed reports that Kanye West was the richest black man in the United States, noting that Dangote remains the richest black man in the world with an estimated $11.8 billion net worth at the time.
